One restaurant. Here’s why Arrozante is worth it.
Paella is one of those dishes that separates the restaurants that care from the ones that don’t. Done properly it takes time, the right rice, the right stock, and someone in the kitchen who actually knows what they’re doing. In Puerto Banús, there is one place that does all of that.

Arrozante at Hotel Occidental, Rotary Internacional Avenue. The kitchen specialises in Spanish rice dishes, the paella is cooked fresh to order in the traditional style and the open kitchen means you can watch every pan being worked from your table.
The paella negra is black rice with alioli, and reviewers are calling it “the best I’ve had in my entire life.” The chicken paella is known to be something special. The seafood version is always described as perfectly cooked and beautifully balanced.
It’s only open for lunch, from 1 to 4 PM daily so you’ll have to plan accordingly. Arrozante has the beautiful outdoor terrace, the open kitchen and the quality of the food that comes out of it, making it the easiest recommendation in this whole guide. If you are in Puerto Banús and want paella this is the place.
