The Best Vegetarian & Vegan Friendly Restaurants in Puerto Banús

Share

Puerto Banús has more to offer than its port reputation suggests when it comes to vegetarian and vegan dining. You won’t find dedicated plant-based restaurants on the marina strip — this is still very much a seafood and meat crowd — but a handful of kitchens take it seriously enough to be truly worth knowing about. Whether you’re all plant-based, flexitarian or just eating with someone who is, these are the five places in the port that won’t let you down.

No. 1

INDIAN · VEGETARIAN SPECIALIST · MARINA FRONT

Mumtaz

★★★★☆ 4.2 · (796 reviews)

Quietly delivering since 1980 right on Muelle Salman, Mumtaz is the port’s best bet for dedicated vegetarian dining with one of the most established reputations on the marina. India’s cuisine is naturally one of the richest traditions for plant-based cooking, with dal, chana masala, paneer dishes, vegetable curries – and Mumtaz covers the full range with a menu that gives vegetarians real choice, rather than an afterthought section. It has decades of heritage with a modern feel, updated in 2025. All clearly offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten free choices.

GREEK · MEDITERRANEAN · VEGETARIAN OPTIONS

Red Pepper

★★★★½ 4.5 · (293 reviews)

Red Pepper is mainly a Greek and Mediterranean grill but the kitchen treats vegetarian dishes with as much attention as it does the meat and seafood menu. Greek food is pretty much plant friendly – mezze, grilled veg, halloumi, stuffed peppers, fresh salads – and Red Pepper does all of it right. It is one of the most praised restaurants on the port strip and vegetarians dining with a group of meat-eaters will not be an afterthought. In the reviews, Renata’s service has its own fan club.

MUST TRY — Halloumi · Greek mezze · Grilled vegetable dishes · Fresh salads

The place you want to sit is the outdoor terrace.
